Gang-il (Hangul: 강일, Katakana: ガンイル, Ganiru) is a new character in The King of Fighters XIV. He is voiced by Toshiya Fujisawa.
Gang-il is the chairman of the World Taekwondo Federation, and Kim's master as well. His astonishing kicking techniques can break through any opponent guard. Always accompanied with a different woman each time he comes back from his travels, Gang-il's personality is the complete opposite of Kim's.
Though Jhun Hoon was stated to have trained in the same dojo as Kim, it is currently unknown if Gang-il has also trained him as well.
He is a womanizer, similar to one of Kim's sons, Kim Dong Hwan back in Fatal Fury/Art of Fighting timeline, and is accompanied by a woman whomever he chooses during his travels (current one being Luong). Besides this, Gang-il also has a brighter side for his pride of Taekwondo's history for generations, just like Kim's other son, Kim Jae Hoon. He also enjoys making fun of Kim, at points treating him like a child, much to Kim's dismay.
- Above average strength - Gang-il's kick is very powerful it is capable of blowing his opponent away with ease.
Fighting Style Edit
Gang-il fights using the Korean martial art, Taekwondo like his student. His skills include many of Kim's past kicks and those of Kim Jae Hoon and Kim Dong Hwan (Kim's two sons). Unlike Kim, Gang-il's attacks are less relied on speed, but are more fierce.
